behind the atlas.

DOSA + COFFEE CONNOISSEUR
I created DesiJapan.com out of a genuine passion for Japan, after travelling to the country more than a dozen times over the years.
What keeps bringing me back is not just the food, cities or scenery, but the culture itself — the respect for people and public spaces, the attention to detail, strong work ethic, discipline and everyday etiquette.
DesiJapan is my attempt to help travellers experience Japan better, while also understanding the values behind what makes the country so unique. I believe visitors should not only enjoy Japan, but also respect, preserve and learn from its culture while they are there.
How the site is funded: some booking links on MERIDIAN Atlas are affiliate links to travel partners. If you book through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Nothing is recommended because it pays — the travel facts, fares and sources are kept separate from any booking link.
